Sand Lovegrass (Eragrostis trichodes) is a Texas-native perennial grass that adds a light, airy texture to the landscape with tall, delicate flower sprays that take on purple and bronze tones as they mature. Its open growth allows sunlight to filter through, creating a softer look than denser ornamental grasses. Well suited to sunny areas with sandy, well-drained soil, it tolerates dry conditions once established and helps hold loose soil in place. Its seeds also offer a food source for wildlife, making it a useful addition to naturalized gardens.
