Prunus persica ‘Texstar’ is a cold-hardy, self-pollinating peach variety developed by Texas A&M University for home orchards in mild winter climates. This medium-sized deciduous tree reaches 12-15 feet tall and wide, forming a rounded crown with upward-reaching branches. In early spring, it produces beautiful pink blossoms, followed by medium to large, red-blushed peaches that ripen in early June.

The semi-clingstone fruit features firm, yellow flesh with a delicate blush near the center, offering a sweet, juicy flavor ideal for fresh eating, baking, and preserving. The Texstar Peach Tree thrives in USDA zones 5-9 and is well-adapted to upland, well-drained sandy clay or loam soils. Although self-fertile, planting multiple trees can increase fruit production.

This frost-hardy, heavy-bearing variety is an excellent low-maintenance choice for home gardeners looking for reliable summer harvests and delicious peaches.
