Foxglove Penstemon (Penstemon digitalis) is a clump-forming perennial with glossy green foliage and upright stems of white, tubular flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. The blooms attract native bees and hummingbirds, while the plant serves as a host for Baltimore Checkerspot butterfly caterpillars in some regions. Its sturdy growth and tolerance for occasional dry spells make it a useful addition to sunny or partly shaded gardens with well-drained soil.
