Kiowa Blackberry (Rubus spp.) is an exceptionally large-fruited, thorny variety known for producing blackberries up to 3 inches long. As one of the longest-fruiting summer-bearing blackberries, it offers a six-week or longer harvest season, beginning in early June. This self-pollinating variety thrives in full sun and well-drained, loamy soil with a pH of 6.0-6.8. The berries are firm, sweet, and highly productive, making them ideal for fresh eating, cobblers, juice, or wine. Despite its thorns, Kiowa is a heavy producer, with just 10 berries filling a half-pint container. This upright, floricane-fruiting variety is a must-have for home gardens, providing an abundant and extended harvest.
