Clustered Bushmint
Hyptis alata (Clustered Bushmint or Musky Mint) is a moisture-loving native perennial that brightens wetland gardens with clusters of small white flowers marked with soft purple accents. Blooming from spring through fall, its nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly landscapes. The aromatic foliage releases a distinctive minty fragrance when crushed, adding sensory interest to the garden. Found naturally along pond margins, wet prairies, and marshes, Clustered Bushmint thrives in consistently moist soils and brings seasonal color and ecological benefits to water gardens and rain gardens alike.
