Ficus Carica, LSU Purple Fig, is a fruit bearing fig variety know for it's adaptability and resiliency. Developed by Louisiana State University, this fig is super prolific, bearing up to 3 crops of sugary-sweet fruit every year. These trees do well in pots or in the ground and are very resistant to the heat making them a great choice for Texas gardeners. They are also known to naturally ward off pests.
